Changing it up again

It's been a really long time since I've posted on here.
Being a mom of two certainly takes up a lot of time and energy.
A friend of mine just started her blog up again and it made me think about this one. I can't say I'll post regularly but I'm going to try something different.
Does anyone even care any more? Who know!

Thunderstorms

DECLAN: The clouds are being very noisy. Can you tell them to be quiet?

ME: I don't think they'll listen to me.

DECLAN: (with one hand on his hip and a finger waving) Then I'll go out and tell them to BE QUIET!

Lollipops and yogurt

I always offer Declan some type of snack after he wakes up from his nap. Sometimes it's fruit, sometimes it's crackers & cheese and today it was yogurt
This was part of our conversation..................

ME: Declan, do you want a yogurt?

DECLAN
: Yes, and a lollipop!

ME:
I didn't offer you a lollipop.

DECLAN
: I'll have one yogurt and one lollipop

This conversation happened yesterday when he was coming down to the kitchen (again, after his nap) from his room

DECLAN: What's wrong with the flower?

ME: It's sad (dying flower)

DECLAN: Maybe it needs a smooch

ME: Sure, you can try

DECLAN: Muah (kiss)...it still looks sad

Being Realistic

I know I've said that I'm going to get caught up with my 365 challenge a few times but it's time to get realistic. I'm a WAHM with 2 children, a house to clean and a life to live, I don't have the time to go back and figure out what's what with the photos. I'm not going to kid myself anymore.
The last couple of days I have been quoting conversations that my (almost 3 year old) son and have been having on Facebook. He's really quite funny and catches me off guard often. I think it would be fun to add those to my blog as well as photos here and there.
I'm sure no one follows this anyway but at least I can look back and laugh!

Vacation-Day 1

If it I had my way, I wouldn't have picked a 4 1/2 hour flight leaving at 4:50 in the afternoon. Not the best plan when traveling with a toddler and a baby but we took what we could get. Sky Service was the only airline that flew with out tour operator (more about that in a later post)
By the time we got through security and all that jazz we really didn't have to wait all that long.
Declan and Adam took a couple walks around and I hung out with Scarlet near our gate.
Declan go to the see our plane taxi into the gate. He was pretty excited about it all...this was his second trip on an airplane but I don't think he really remembers the first time.
Take off was fine but once we were in the air Declan wanted to sit on Adam's lap the whole time. Scarlet felt like sleeping so we moved her into Declan's car/plane seat so I could have some freedom.
We didn't get to the resort until 10:30pm and at this point Declan had had ZERO sleep in 14 hours (he still naps, normally). He was in great spirits considering and well Scarlet, she was just along for the ride.

This was the room we stayed in for the first 4 nights. It was nice but the bed was so hard!

gotta get back at this

So I guess I'm not going to try and catch up but I will go back in my files and update this blog. I got so far behind and then overwhelmed. I don't want to give up so I'll start again?! LOL

Day 57 - Bugs n' stuff

We went to the butterfly conservatory with a couple friends. It was fun but really crowded because of March Break. I had reminded everyone that it's hot and humid in there but didn't exactly prepare myself for it. I was so hot and sticky...yuck! It was so sunny out so there were tons of butterflies flying around. It was beautiful!!

They were having Bug Fest so I thought I'd check it out and see what Declan thought of it. My little guy ate everything they offered, from Cajun Crickets to Bug Brittle. I hid my disgust while he chomped away at the bugs...LOL

Day 56 - Weekly Photo

Since I misplaced (Declan hid) my camera, I've missed some weekly photos :( I was doing so well too. This is the most recent ones of Scarlet 20 weeks old!!

She's such a happy little girl!

Day 55 - Getting ready for vacation

I decided to try on the babylegs I got for her from www.babysteals.com awhile ago to see if they'd fit LOL She has thunder thighs so they stayed up nicely ;)

Grandma bought Scarlet a pair of shades to wear while we're away in the DR later this month. They're a bit big she they'll do the trick since she can't pull anything off her face yet.
I love how she already poses for the camera!

Day 54 - I'm a Little Tea Pot

I know I posted about her exersaucer before but these photos were too cute to pass up. Scarlet can finally reach the bottom without having to put a book under her feet.
Isn't she sweet?!!?

Day 53 - Nothing else to do

We had a pretty uneventful day until Declan found a big LCBO bag and put it on his head.
He only walked into the wall 3 times before I cut a hole in it to make him him space helmet.
Hours of fun for FREE!

Day 52 - Tot Spot Again

It's been awhile since I've posted so I really have no idea where I'm at and I'm too lazy to figure it out so here we go..................................
We went to Little Tot again with some friends. Declan always has lots of fun running around tearing down the large soft blocks while Scarlet and I chat with friends.
Scarlet looks so big in the Ikea highchair!!

Day 51 - Mary Janes

Yet another crochet picture. This time I was trying to make Scarlet a pair of Mary Janes. I made 3 and they are all a little different....LOL
I was hoping that 2 would match but I guess I just need to practice, practice, practice1

Day 50 - Dancing Machine

Declan loves to dance to pretty much any type of music. Today he was entertaining Scarlet by dancing to his favourite singer, David Bowie. He has the cutest dance moves ;)

Day 49 - Hat

I decided to give crocheting a hat a go. It went fairly well considering I just learned how to crochet. I did tear the beak off a few times and I may still redo it again to make it more sturdy but I'm pretty impressed with my results. Don't look too closely or you will see mistakes...LOL

Day 48 - Shopping

Nothing exciting happened during the day.
I went shopping and bought Scarlet a couple shirts and a pair of pants. She's already 15 pounds so I bought her size 9 months even though she's only 3 1/2 months old! She's in the 90th percentile for height and weight! I just want them to fit in the summer.....lol
I also bought some crochet supplies
In the evening I went out for dinner with a couple mommy friends. One I haven't seen in awhile so it was nice to catch up over sushi and deep fried bananas....YUMMY!!

Day 47 - Stitch & Bitch #3

I got together again with the ladies (and Jaxson) on Friday night at Amanda's house. This time I was taught how to crochet. I've tried a few times to teach myself but I just couldn't figure out how to hold the hook and get enough tension on the yarn. Alicia was a pretty good teacher :) She showed me a couple different stitches and I went from there.

Day 46 - Little House on the Prairie

My mom and I have had a Mirvish subscription for many years. This means that we get to see a ton of musicals and plays in Toronto. I think on average we see about 6 a year. We've seen wonderful shows like Mama Mia, The Sound of Music, Chicago, Sweeney Todd, etc. We've also seen some crap like We Will Rock You.
Little House on the Prairie lands on the crap list. I'm not sure what they were thinking putting Melissa Gilbert in as Ma but it was REALLY wrong. She can't sing and I really think she forgot how to act. It's a shame but I'm sure they cast her thinking it would sell more tickets. I'm sure it has but I'm also sure that many other people were disappointed.
I wasn't allowed to take photos so here are a few from the website

Day 45 - Story Time & Craft

Today we went with a few friends to a local book store for story time. As usual, Declan preferred to play with the Thomas stuff while Scarlet and I listened to the Olympic themed stories and chatted with friends.
Amanda brought her niece with her who I think is a year older than Declan. He had fun playing with her and making an Olympic torch.
